Fremdsprachenassistentin am IKG
Hi, I'm Katie Halliday. I'm the English Language Assistant for the school for this year. I come from a small town in the East of England called Bury St Edmunds (which is close to Cambridge). Although Bury is a very small town, it is very well known in England for Greene King (the largest pub retailer and brewer in the UK). However, I study French and German at the University of Chester. Chester is a lovely old Roman city, founded between 70 and 80 AD. It is well known for its Roman Walls that surround the medieval city centre. One of our main campuses is in Ellesmere Port which is actually the twin-city of Reutlingen!
I am currently in my 3rd year of University, so I have just one year left of studying. In the future, I would love to be a languages teacher therefore this year is a great opportunity for me but also for the students as they have the opportunity to learn a bit more about British culture. I’m very excited to be working at IKG. So far I have absolutely loved being here, I think that Reutlingen is a very pretty town. I have enjoyed hiking the most as this is something I wouldn’t be able to do in my hometown! I have also really enjoyed trying Swabian food such as spätzle.
